    Graduate and Doctor of Law from the University of Seville, in whose Faculty of Law he has been Senior Lecturer in Civil Law. He has published more than a dozen books in his field, among them Instituciones de Derecho Hipotecario (Civitas, 1986), Práctica Procesal y Contractual en Materia de Arrendamientos Urbanos (Comares, 1996), Instituciones de Derecho Civil (Civitas, 1988 and 1999), in two volumes, and Las medidas en los casos de crisis matrimonial (McGraw-Hill Interamericana de España, 1997). He combines teaching and research with the practice of law, principally before the Bar Associations of Seville, Madrid, Jerez de la Frontera, Cádiz, Huelva, Córdoba and Málaga. He is a member of the Royal Academy of Legislation and Jurisprudence of Seville.

    José Ignacio Juárez Chicote

    Graduate in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid, with doctoral studies and a Specialist Course in Telecommunications and Information Technology Law. He began practising in 1991 at the chambers of Fernando Garrido Falla, Professor of Administrative Law and later a Justice of the Constitutional Court, and in 1994 joined López Rodó Abogados. His work has centred on public law, in particular public procurement — a field in which he has advised public authorities and the successful bidders for public works and services — together with compulsory purchase, administrative penalty law and the rules governing public employees. He has litigated at every level of jurisdiction, as well as before the Constitutional Court and the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, in some instances obtaining judgments that have altered the courts' previous doctrine. He is an arbitrator of the Court of Arbitration of the Madrid Bar Association in administrative law, a lecturer in Administrative Law at the Villanueva University Centre, and co-author of the Manual de Derecho Administrativo (Colex, 1997).

    Chartered accountant and statutory auditor. Born in the United Kingdom and educated at Ampleforth College, York, he read Accountancy and was admitted to practice by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1974, having trained at Binder Hamlyn in the City of London, a co-founder of BDO. Posted to Madrid in 1974 to establish BDO's first Spanish office, he was Partner-in-Charge there until 1982, when he joined the new management team of Barclays Bank S.A., then newly established in Spain. During that period he was also President of the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain, until 1986. He has lived in Sotogrande since 1989 and has worked with property companies such as Inmobiliaria Espacio (1989-1993) and the Bland Group of Gibraltar.

    Eusebio Aparicio Auñón

    Member of the Madrid Bar Association and Doctor of Economics from the Complutense University of Madrid, where he has taught Civil Law, as he has also done at the Faculty of Law in Málaga. He lectured at the Research Department of the Bank of Spain to the auditors of that body. He is the author of various legal and economic publications, among them Conceptos básicos de Derecho Civil and the Comentarios a la Nueva Ley de Enjuiciamiento Civil, in four volumes. He began practising law in Madrid and served as a Judge of the Courts of First Instance numbers 6 and 11 and of the Provincial Court of Málaga; following his time on the bench, he practises once more as a lawyer.
